Stylish Blogger Award Received!
Posted by jlsgrant in Nothing Important on January 24, 2011
Wow! What a nice surprise today! Two Three of my bloggy friends have nominated me for The Stylish Blogger Award! So first, a big THANK YOU to my friends over at Guiding Light Homeschool , Sister Tipster’s Tell’n It!, and The Blessings Pour Out!
But the biggest reward for this fine award, is that I now get to do some “awarding” of my own! Of course, if you are nominated there are a few rules of acceptance that must be strictly adhered to!!
First, thank and link back to the person who has given you this award,
Second, award 15 recently discovered great bloggers, or 10…
Third, share 7 things about yourself, and
Fourth, don’t forget to contact your nominated award winners to let them know!
So without further ado, I would like to introduce you to some of my favorite bloggers:
Applie’s Place, Mess and Happiness, Harmony Art Mom,
Lessons Learned on the Farm, Jennaissance, Central Florida Gardener,
Life on the Hilltop, God Made…Home Grown, School Daze,
And now, I’m expected to bore you with seven extremely interesting things about me that you never wanted to know!
Fixin’ to Move!
Posted by jlsgrant in Nothing Important on January 14, 2011
So, there we were….not planning to move and making an offer on a house up the road a piece! Really, we weren’t thinking about moving. Sure, we have dreamt about the bungalow on the beach, but that just doesn’t seem too realistic! Plus…if we really want to go to the beach, we can just take the boat!
Anyway, back to the house up the road…we noticed it was for sale. We got curiouser and curioiser! We took a look and made and offer, or rather three offers before we came to an agreement.
Now we will be the proud owners of a few things we have never had…
First:
a fine home for an armadillo or if we’re lucky a nice family of armadillos…
Second:
one of these…no idea, really rusty thing with
a wooden thing attached and barbed wire
Third:
really big Oak Trees…far enough from the house that they won’t smush it in a storm
Fourth:
a sweet little “yard hamster”, some people call it a Pocket Gopher
Fifth:
barbed wire…we have never owned barbed wire before!
Now this does not mean I am going to start listening to country music or anything, but I can see all sorts of opportunity for nature studies! Who knows, maybe even a farm animal or an outside cat?
Good Bye, 2010!

New Day, New Look

Last night while I was out with #1 Girl and my Mom-in-law enjoying the Moscow Ballet’s presentation of The Great Russian Nutcracker, my husband traded monitors with me! I really don’t mind, but Mindful Ramblings had taken on some kind of putrid green glow! So I thought to myself, “Wow, if any single visitor to Mindful Ramblings gets ill, I don’t know how I could live with myself.” (My apologies if my past green glow has caused you distress of any kind! It really was a lovely shade on my previous monitor!)
So this is the new simpler look for the new simpler year! Or possibly a new simpler look…for this week or this month! Here’s a splash of color from my new camera to liven things up a little:
A friendly Lorikeet from Busch Gardens, no telephoto lens required.
Please excuse my dust while a re-arrange a few things and figure out how this template works.
